Tax repayments can be obtained against PAYE, thanks to the special benefits available for Research and Development expenditure. We acted for a company developing innovative mechanical products used in medicine.

Our Advice

We advised them of the existence of the special tax reliefs for research and development and then helped them put a claim together for current and earlier periods.

Outcome

After negotiations with HMRC over the nature of the qualifying expenditure a substantial tax repayment was agreed as a credit against company PAYE.
